Mobileye, a leading provider of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and Project 3 Mobility (P3), a Croatian company dedicated to revolutionizing urban transportation through autonomous mobility solutions, have announced a strategic partnership aimed at introducing a new mobility service leveraging Mobileye’s cutting-edge self-driving technology, Mobileye Drive.
The collaboration between Mobileye and P3 signifies a significant step forward in the quest to enhance urban transportation. P3, with its ambitious goal of launching its inaugural service in Zagreb by 2026, is set to commence testing and validation of Mobileye’s autonomous vehicle (AV) solution in the capital city as early as 2024. P3’s comprehensive transportation ecosystem comprises three vital components: an autonomous electric vehicle, specialized infrastructure, and a mobility service platform. Notably, P3’s vehicle, meticulously engineered for safety and comfort, will integrate Mobileye’s state-of-the-art technology, including the versatile Mobileye Drive system.
At the heart of Mobileye Drive lies a sophisticated array of features, including redundant camera and lidar-radar sensing capabilities, REM crowdsourced mapping, and a transparent driving policy, all powered by the innovative EyeQ system-on-chip. This robust technology can seamlessly adapt to diverse geographical locations, road types, and weather conditions while accommodating local driving styles, thereby ensuring unparalleled adaptability and reliability.
P3’s ambitious plans extend beyond Zagreb, as the company has already secured agreements with nine cities across the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to implement its urban autonomous service. Additionally, P3 has outlined plans to expand its footprint to an additional 30 cities in the near future.
Professor Amnon Shashua, the visionary founder and CEO of Mobileye, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasizing a shared commitment to enhancing urban mobility safety and accessibility. He highlighted Mobileye Drive’s versatility in accommodating various vehicle types, underscoring its potential to redefine mobility services on a global scale.
Echoing Shashua’s sentiments, Marko Pejković, CEO of Project 3 Mobility, underscored the significance of the partnership in advancing the company’s mission to revolutionize urban transportation. Pejković praised Mobileye as an ideal collaborator, citing their extensive experience, cutting-edge technology, and dedicated team. Together, the two entities are poised to transform the vision of urban autonomous mobility into a tangible reality.
As P3 prepares to unveil further details about its groundbreaking project and service in the coming months, the partnership between Mobileye and P3 stands as a testament to the potential of innovation and collaboration in reshaping the future of urban transportation. With a shared vision and unwavering determination, Mobileye and P3 are poised to usher in a new era of safe, efficient, and accessible urban mobility for communities around the world.
