Mobileye Introduces Modular ECU Series

Mobileye has unveiled a groundbreaking series of Electronic Control Units (ECUs) designed to provide modular solutions for different levels of driving automation. These ECUs cater to a wide spectrum of automation needs, ranging from advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) to fully autonomous vehicles. The series is powered by the cutting-edge EyeQ6H chip and is available in three distinct configurations: SuperVision, Chauffeur, and Drive. Each configuration is tailored to support varying degrees of automation while streamlining development and validation processes for automakers.

SuperVision: Advanced Hands-Off Driving Assistance

SuperVision is the entry-level configuration designed for hands-off but eyes-on driving. This system allows vehicles to manage navigation tasks, such as highway pilot mode, at speeds of up to 130 km/h while requiring the driver to remain attentive. Equipped with 11 cameras and an optional radar, SuperVision delivers robust perception capabilities and advanced parking features. Despite its impressive functionality, the unit remains compact and lightweight, weighing just over five pounds. Chauffeur: Enhanced Automation with Eyes-Off Capability

Building on the foundation of SuperVision, the Chauffeur configuration introduces a secondary processing board, enabling hands-off and eyes-off driving in specific operational design domains (ODDs). This setup incorporates additional sensors, including radar and lidar, significantly improving environmental perception and safety. With Chauffeur, vehicles can independently navigate while ensuring the driver remains available for intervention when necessary. This configuration marks a crucial step toward greater autonomy, offering a balance between human oversight and automated driving.

Drive: Full Autonomy for Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS)

At the highest level of automation, the Drive configuration is designed for fully autonomous mobility services. Featuring four EyeQ6H chips, this setup boasts an extensive sensor suite, including up to 13 cameras, imaging radars, and lidars. The Drive configuration supports driverless operation, making it an ideal solution for Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) applications, such as robotaxis and autonomous shuttles. By eliminating the need for human intervention, this advanced system opens the door to safer and more efficient urban transportation.
