DeepRoute.ai, a cutting-edge artificial intelligence firm, has entered a strategic collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. to co-develop a range of intelligent driving solutions. These new offerings will be built on the Snapdragon Ride Platforms and aim to deliver high-performance, cost-efficient advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (AD) capabilities.

This joint effort focuses on creating intelligent systems that support both lidar and vision-only configurations. These systems will feature advanced driving functions such as Urban Navigate on Autopilot (NOA), Highway NOA, and fully automated parking. Designed with flexibility in mind, the solutions will be applicable across a broad spectrum of vehicle types, from traditional fuel-powered cars to modern new energy vehicles.

A core aspect of this collaboration involves optimizing AI models like end-to-end Bird’s Eye View (BEV) perception and transformer-based neural networks for deployment on the Snapdragon Ride Platforms. These platforms are known for their powerful computing capabilities and open architecture, making them ideal for supporting the intricate demands of intelligent driving systems.

Inspired by the complexity of the human brain, the underlying architecture of DeepRoute.ai’s solutions mimics neural networks, enabling more natural interaction with the driving environment. This allows the system to grasp traffic conditions and behavioral patterns with greater contextual awareness. Such enhancements prove especially valuable in complex and unpredictable scenarios—commonly referred to as “long-tail” situations—such as negotiating with pedestrians, maneuvering around parked vehicles, navigating unconventional intersections, or driving through narrow roads. In these situations, the system’s improved decision-making helps achieve smoother and safer driving.

To further enhance system reliability, DeepRoute.ai has refined its algorithms to handle a wide range of lighting conditions. Whether it’s intense sunlight, low-light environments, or heavy backlighting, the vision-only systems are now capable of delivering near-lidar-level performance. This is a key milestone, especially for automakers seeking to reduce dependency on more expensive sensor hardware without compromising on safety or functionality.

Thanks to the open nature of the Snapdragon Ride architecture, automotive manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers can integrate a variety of advanced ADAS functionalities. These include camera perception, sensor fusion, driving behavior modeling, driver monitoring systems, and autonomous parking. The integrated AI accelerator and image processing engine allow the platform to process input from up to 16 cameras and multiple radar and lidar sensors simultaneously. This capability supports real-time tasks such as pedestrian recognition, lane detection, and obstacle avoidance, all essential for comprehensive intelligent driving systems.
