Polestar and Mobileye Join Forces to Advance Autonomous Driving Technolog

Polestar has announced an exciting collaboration with Mobileye, a leader in autonomous driving technology, to integrate Mobileye’s Chauffeur autonomous driving system into the upcoming Polestar 4, marking a significant step forward in the automotive industry. This collaboration aims to bring cutting-edge autonomous capabilities to the Polestar 4, making it the first production vehicle to feature Mobileye’s advanced technology. The integration of this smart technology will be expertly handled by ECARX, a renowned automotive technology company.

Mobileye has already made a substantial impact in the automotive industry, with its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology installed in over 150 million vehicles globally. The collaboration between Polestar and Mobileye opens up exciting possibilities for future Polestar models to also incorporate Mobileye’s ADAS technology, further enhancing their safety and autonomous driving capabilities.

The highly anticipated Polestar 4 is set to launch in China in 2024. This innovative vehicle will come equipped with Mobileye SuperVision-based ADAS, promising a new level of driving experience for its users. The first deliveries of the Polestar 4 in China are expected by the end of 2023, generating significant excitement among automotive enthusiasts and tech-savvy consumers.

Mobileye’s Chauffeur technology is poised to revolutionize the driving experience. It is designed to enable eyes-off, point-to-point autonomous driving on highways, in addition to eyes-on automated driving in various scenarios. This means that Polestar 4 owners will have the option to enjoy autonomous driving when they choose, making their journeys more enjoyable and convenient. This aligns with the broader trend in the automotive industry towards autonomous driving solutions, aimed at enhancing safety and convenience for drivers.

Polestar’s CEO, Thomas Ingenlath, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “I am really happy with how Polestar 4’s production readiness is advancing. A collaboration with Mobileye can significantly push innovation in our Polestar 4 electric performance SUV coupe. We know that driving yourself is not always fun and exciting – this technology means our customers could enable autonomous driving when they want, making all future journeys enjoyable.”

The Polestar 4 is a remarkable fusion of design and functionality. It seamlessly combines distinct design elements from the Polestar Precept concept car, with the sleek and aerodynamic lines of a coupe, and the spaciousness and comfort characteristic of modern SUVs. Positioned between the Polestar 2 and Polestar 3 in terms of size and price, the Polestar 4 is set to carve a unique niche in the market, appealing to consumers seeking a perfect blend of style, performance, and advanced technology.
